The magazine
About The Everyday Heart
The Everyday Heart is an independent editorial magazine about everyday cardiovascular health: prevention, food, movement, sleep, stress and the plain words that carry all of it. It is written for general readers, in English, and it exists because the vocabulary of heart health is a wall for exactly the people who most need the ideas behind it. The magazine publishes at daytonhearthospital.com.
What this is, precisely
This is a publication, not a clinic, a hospital or a care provider of any kind. It offers no consultations, no appointments, no diagnoses, no treatments and no medical services, and nothing on it creates a relationship between a reader and any health professional. The health notice at the top of every page means what it says: informational content, not medical advice.
How the editors work
Every page is written against public sources: the World Health Organization, national public health agencies such as the CDC and the NIH institutes, and the public education material of bodies such as the American Heart Association. Sources are cited at the foot of each article, links point only to public institutions, and reading is dated: guidance moves, and pages are revisited. The byline is collective, the Everyday Heart editors, and the method is described in the notebook entry about plain words and in the editorial policy.
What the magazine refuses
- No personal medical advice, no interpretation of a reader's numbers, symptoms or medications, ever.
- No sales of supplements, devices, programs or plans, and no affiliate links anywhere on the site.
- No invented experts, fabricated studies or anecdotes dressed as experience.
- No claims that outrun their source; associations are described as associations.
Corrections and contact
Errors are corrected on the page itself, dated and visible, because quiet corrections are no corrections at all. Readers who spot one, or who want to suggest a glossary entry, can write to the contact page; good suggestions earn a line of credit. The signature resources are the cardio glossary and the everyday heart checklist, and both grow with the magazine.
